On Friday 14th August 2009 I photographed the wedding of Dan Roberts and Natalie Foord. They got married at Herstmonceux Castle in Hailsham, East Sussex. Although I had attended weddings there before, I had never actually photographed one, so I was really looking forward to it. The castle itself is a wonderful backdrop and the grounds within are perfect for portraits.

Both Dan and Natalie were incredibly relaxed, or at least it seemed that way. It makes my job much more enjoyable when everyone seems to be so laid back.

The reception was held at The Wok Inn in Shortgate, near Lewes. Some might think that a Chinese restaurant is a little unusual for a wedding reception, but I thought it was terrific. The setting is beautiful and Chinese food is good, so what’s not to like!? They even had a lovely cake from Choccywoccydoodah!
